RDLAC Volunteering & Opportunities

RDLAC take pride in offering an outstanding amount of voluntary opportunities.

Have a read below about what it is we do!

Volunteering

We believe volunteers provide a genuine relationship between projects and the community.

Our volunteer programme offers local residents and service users an opportunity to develop new skills, build self-confidence and contribute to improving the quality of their neighbourhood.

We offer the space and support for volunteers to develop and gain transferable skills, to make new contacts and to become able to move on to new training and to seek employment.

RDLAC is an appealing hub for people interested in volunteering, whether it is with children or young people, older people or special interest groups.

We work with Newham Work Experience to offer young people the opportunity to gain experience in fields they would like to explore and possibly develop further in the future.

A variety of volunteering opportunities we provide include:

  • Receptionist / Customer Services

  • Assisting Administrative work

  • Gardening

  • Mini-bus Driver & Support

  • Supporting delivery of project activities / Project Assistants

  • Setting up and running self-help groups

  • Helping at Centre events

  • Working with children in our After School Club / Playworker Support

Work Experience

We work very closely with local partners including Newham Council, UEL and more to give as many children in our local schools and education establishments the opportunity to get an insight of what it's like to be in employment, working with the different projects delivered at RDLAC which vary from secretarial and admin roles to working with children at our After School Club.
